Photographs are powerful things. Taken at the right time, in the right place, with the right elements, they can trigger episodic memories within us. Accessing our long-term memories, and calling upon past mental imagery, we can sense things when we see a photo. For example, a well-taken photo of an apple pie can cause us to remember a smell, a taste, and perhaps even (heaven knows it has happened to me before) cause us to salivate a little. A photo of a snowy vista may, even if briefly, make you feel a little cold. The photographs, in a sense, tell a story that you have already heard and resonates within you.
Telling a story though images is a great photographic concept. (http://www.outdoorphotographer.com/how-to/shooting/building-stories.html#.VgdbSLTFvVo)
Here are 4 images that I feel tell a story within me, but hopefully also within you. What episodic memories do these images trigger in you?
